Alhambra House, Southern California


Alhambra House

Established in 1996 with a grant from the International Order of Alhambra, the Alhambra House provides assisted living for six young men with developmental disabilities in Southern California. They are all in a bowling league together and each one also holds a job.

Bill (First Resident)
Bill was the first resident to move into the Alhambra House in Southern California. He likes the California Angels and the Los Angeles Dodgers baseball teams. Shown here, Bill is taking his turn at preparing dinner for himself and the other residents.		 Bill
Don Don
Don has a collection of flags which he flies in front of Alhambra House in Southern California for the various seasons of the year. He is also a great promoter of the Neighborhood Watch program.
Kerry
Kerry holds a job doing building maintenance. He likes photography, fishing, bowling with his friends and reading the sports page of the newspaper. Kerry is shown here with Grover, the Alhambra House pet.		 Kerry
Peter Peter
Peter gets his exercise lifting weights. For relaxation he likes listening to 50’s and 60’s music on CD and cassette.
Mike
Mike is our newest resident at the Alhambra House in Southern California. Mike bowls in a league with the other men from Alhambra House and the ladies from Gabriel House.		 Mike

The first Alhambra House to receive financial assistance from the Order is located in Herndon, Virginia . Others have been approved for grants in Florida, Illinois, Michiganand Ohio.
