Cordova Caravan #26 was formed Monday October 2, 1911 in Buffalo, NY, seven years after the
Order of the Alhambra came into existence in Brooklyn, New York in 1904. John T.
Ryan was Cordova's first Grand Commander, 1911-13, and held the office of Supreme
Commander of the Order from 1917-25. Among the charter members of Cordova #26 were PSG Ryan and Louis G. Collard, who passed
away in 1971 at the age of 84 and was then the oldest living member of Cordova.
During its 96 years, Cordova #26 has had a proud history of achievments under the
guidance of its 66 Grand Commanders, adhering to the principles of the Order and the
Roman Catholic Church. Today Cordova #26 continues to have fun and fraternity, as well as
expends much effort and resources helping God's special people, the developmentally disabled.
